At the time I was only a little boy and we lived next door to Paul Fletcher too and I’m not sure how but we ended up at a game against York Wasps…

I was born in Leeds and lived there till moving to Hull in 1971. I first saw Rovers at Headingley in 1968, the year I was introduced to live rugby league by a Leeds-supporting friend. To his disappointment, I was more interested in ‘the other side’ and over the next couple of years went to quite a few more Rovers away games – Bradford, Castleford, Featherstone, Hunslet, Leeds again, etc.

My first Rovers memory was in 2004. I was 14 years old and recieved some free tickets from school for a Friendly with the Kazan Arrows.

During my seven decades of watching Rovers I have had many favourite players but my first was Cyril Kellett. His Heritage number is 605.

HKR has played a big part in my life since the late 1940s, when I was first taken to Craven Park as a five-year old.
